Friends came to stay and play!

On Saturday our friends Aaron and Val called and asked if we were up for spontaneous weekend guests. We said, "Yes! Come!" Josh and I had just been saying that we wished friends could come stay and play in the snow with us. And we weren't planning to leave the house for the weekend due to the amount of snow and road conditions anyway. Thankfully they have 4-wheel-drive and Aaron is an expert driver!

After we got all the kids tucked into bed Saturday night we made yummy Christmasy peppermint candy milkshakes and watched a funny movie. Aaron and Val are also a gluten-free, dairy-free family, but we all cheated and had dairy that night... and we paid for it. ;) !  But we had fun.

The next day we got the kids all bundled up and hit the snow! What a bunch of cuties! :)

Jude & Ayla (the big kids) went down first, but we quickly realized that the snow needed to be packed down in order to go fast. 

So Aaron made two sledding lanes for the kids...

And with a little push they were off! :)

Selah & Macy were flying down the hill, either together or side-by-side, every time I turned around! :)

I had fun riding with Ben! He was a little bit nervous but always said he liked it when we got to the bottom of the little hill. :)

Ben had fun on the tube! And we double stacked Josh and Selah once. :) 

And then Aaron got buried in snow...

...and surprised us all when he exploded out of the snow! :)

Then we headed back into the house to warm up and eat lunch. I'm so glad that Aaron & Val and their girls came to stay! What a FUN, memorable weekend!! <3
