You, Me, & the Sea...

Our family took a 5 day trip to the Bandon, OR beach and just loved it! I got to help my friend photograph a celebrity wedding that was on the coast (it was so beautiful), so Josh and I decided to make an extended trip of the occasion. It was such a great getaway because the house we stayed in didn't have internet and barely even had cell service (we found our phones sometimes worked in the corner window of the kitchen) and for the first time in years we felt unplugged! It was kind of amazing to be honest. We felt like we'd taken a real break from the world for the time we were there.

I fell in love (from a distance) with the Coquille River Lighthouse in Bandon. It was so picturesque to me. But every time we were out and about I seemed to forget to work it into our schedule so that we could go visit it up close. :) But I snapped some pics of it from different places we were at. The sunlight on it was so captivating to me.

This was our favorite beach we visited (more than once), the Bandon Beachfront Islands.

There were so many beautiful drift wood structures to enjoy...

The first day we played at the beach we lucked out with very little wind. We parked ourselves in this beautiful spot and played for hours!

I'm so thankful for the way Josh lavishes love on our kids! He's such a great dad! The way he is with Selah reminds me of how my dad was with me.

Josh and the kids ventured all over the place in the water. He's soooo good at playing with them and making things fun. He hunted for sea life with Selah & Ben, played frisbee in the water with Jude, and they all chased seagulls together... I guarded our stuff, and happily took pictures of their cute selves. ;)

This was Jude's favorite thing to do... run wild in the waves!! I loved watching his pure joy & what looked like "freeeedommmm!" :)

The other thing he did that Josh and I both commented on was this... how far Jude has come!

We also spent time wandering Old town Bandon, seeing the boats, docks, sea lions, and shops.

There was a lot of art displayed on the boardwalk...

My favorite thing to eat while on vacation is fish & chips. And this place was incredible! I knew we had to eat here when the line was out the door and down the ramp (at lunch time) and people were waiting to get a table. It was absolutely worth the wait!

The Fair, Lake & Company picnic

Josh's parents invited us to go tubbing at Foster Lake and have a bbq dinner. We said absolutely! This was the first time the kids had ever gone and they really enjoyed it. Not only did they love tubbing, but they also loved the beach by where we ate because they could play in the shallow water there. The weather was just right and we all had so much fun together! We stayed until the sun went down and the kids slept on the drive home. Thank you Mom & Dad Fegles for such a sweet day of memories! xo

So thankful for these two and all they did to put the day together! Especially Grandpa Mike for arriving early to put in his boat, get all the gear set and have the best table ready for us. Thank you for making the day so easy and enjoyable.

The company that Josh works for hosts fun events for employees and their families about once a month. I love that they do that because I've gotten to know a handful of the families of Josh's co-workers. We don't attend everything, but we've made it to a movie night and and we took the kids to an arcade night. Last month we attended a picnic they put on and we had a great time! They rented a park and provided dinner, water balloon games, sand volleyball, dessert, and a fun raffle with prizes for kids and adults. Selah won some Frozen craft things and Josh and I won a tv sound system!

So the most amazing thing that happened that night was just getting another little glimpse into Jude's awesome mind. Each kid was given 5 raffle tickets to enter to win prizes. They put them into the cups of which prizes they wanted to win and then we went through the food line to get our dinner. Then we ate, then the kids ran off to play with water balloons for an hour. Then finally they told us it was time for the raffle and Josh pulled out each of the kid's tickets that have their matching numbers on them so they could look at them if their number is called. Well Jude let us know that he already knew his numbers. We looked at him confused, like "huh?" Then he rattled off all 5 of his 6-digit raffle ticket numbers. He didn't need to look at them. We were shocked! When did he have time to study the numbers or memorize them??? They were only in his hands for the brief amount of time that he was choosing which cup to put them in, and he was spending all of that time looking at the prizes, not the tickets. Days later I asked him if he remembered one of his raffle numbers and without missing a beat he said, "731825". Weeks later I asked him again and yep, he still knew all 5 of them. He makes me smile so big. I love how his mind works! I wish I had a memory like that.

The kids worked hard with Granny (my Grandma) to enter things into the county fair this summer. Jude did 3 baking crafts, Selah did 3 sewing crafts, and Ben did 3 toy crafts. They had a great time and each won ribbons for all of their entries.

We had a fun night attending the fair with my mom, watching the rodeo, and she treated the kids to lots of rides & fun fair food! :) Thanks Grandma Jill for a fun night!

I think both of my parents are just the cutest! They seem so timeless.

P.s...in case you're a detailed person and you've noticed that I'm wearing the same outfit in pretty much all of my summer pics, it's totally coincidence!! Haha! But because I only own one pair of shorts (inventory up 100% from several years ago), I apparently throw this on any time it's a really hot day! ;)
