Josh and I went out on a date on Monday night to celebrate since we had a packed Tuesday and knew we couldn't squeeze in anything else. But we did exchange our cards on Valentine's Day and Josh baked me some heart shaped cookies that were so yummy!
Monday evening we went out to Toro Bravo in NE Portland and just loved it! We ordered 6 or 7 plates of different foods (each plate is pretty small) and enjoyed every single one! Josh's favorite was the bacon wrapped dates. Yum! We left so stuffed.

As I was snapping a few pics of Selah, I looked over and saw this. :) Benjamin LOVES to climb. INTO anything or ON anything! He just loves to get places!

Even his cast doesn't slow him down. :) Speaking of, the way Benjamin walks with his cast is pretty cute. It sort of makes me think of a pirate with a peg leg. You hear it drop and drag.

This was my hint someone was tired...

And about 5 mins later... :) Sweet boy! xoxo

I'm loving this phase as I'm seeing more and more of Benjamin's personality unfolding. He seems to be very social and just loves to be entertaining!! He likes to get a little laugh out of us! He'll do something unexpected and say "uh oh!" as if he's surprised, or he'll put his spoon in his mouth backwards until you notice and then he'll break out in a big smile. Just sweet little things that make me snuggle him extra tight. :) He also is entering the phase where he throws his head back and throws a little fit when he doesn't get what he wants.
Last week we watched our friends' girls for the evening. Benjamin and Lilly (who is two months older than him) were inseparable! They played together the entire time and even when Lilly was in his highchair having a snack he hung out by her and just gave her smiles and "talked" (making noises).

Jude followed instructions well at sensory therapy this week and tried some new things. He climbed into the larger "hammocks" (the colorful stretchy fabrics hanging from the ceiling) and wasn't fearful. They are great for full body movements. Miss M hid stuff animals all over the gym and Jude had to go find them and match them up with colored circles. She hid a few in those upper hammocks. ;) She gave me more tips on how to help Jude build upper body and core muscles.

Josh, Selah and Benj joined us today. Josh and Selah had never seen the place before. (A pic of Jude and Miss M)

Benjamin kept busy with these weighted balls for a portion of the time.

Selah has improved a lot in the past two weeks at swimming. She's getting more comfortable in the water. Jude's doing great too. He still has a pretty strong fear of jumping into the water, (I think because of water up his nose) but I know he'll get there!

Selah's been doing a good job of sounding out words and figuring out how to spell them. This past week she sounded out the names of our family and wrote them out by herself (I had to help her with Ben, because she couldn't quite discern the sounds).

And lastly, tonight we had some fun in the garage (playroom) playing Pictionary as a family. We'd never done this before and thought the kids are probably at the age now where we could play some games all together. We only drew animals and it was fun to see what the kid would think up. I think Josh had the most exciting drawing of the night with an "Angry Bird" and a green pig. :)

Happy Wednesday!
