Newport Beach

Between Legoland and Disneyland, we planned a day at Newport Beach to give our senses a calming break! The beach is truly our happy place. Being there is like taking a deep breath that recharges everything. I told Josh that I'd love to visit the McGee & Co. store in Costa Mesa & ride bikes along the Balboa Peninsula. So off we went! We drove along the coastline & I was pretty excited when we pulled into the parking lot there at McGee.

I love, love, love their interior design style and had a lot of fun just looking around and lingering there. They recommended that we head across the street to Sidecar donuts, and that sounded fantastic to us.

They had the best gluten free donuts!

From there we parked at the beach and rented bikes. This place was awesome!

We biked down to the pier and got frozen pineapple whip & shaved ice. 

It ended up being pretty windy out on the pier, so we hopped back on our bikes and road to the park in the warm sand.

Of all the houses we passed, this one was my favorite... the interior design was beautiful! But the people were making dinner, so I couldn't really take a photo inside their house. ;)

We returned our bikes and headed to Pirate's Cove to watch the sunset.

It was so beautiful there!

We saw pelicans flying just above the water, and we played near the rocks.

The kids made sinking holes in the sand...

We got in some swimming before bed, and were pretty excited to be hitting Disneyland the next morning.
