The Fair

Instead of our annual routine of attending the Canby Fair, this year we went to the Benton County Fair in Corvallis, since we live here now! It was fun and had lots of upsides (family and running into friends), but I will be honest, I did miss the Canby Fair.

But one really neat thing about the Fair this year was that my Grandma Joyce (the kids call her Granny) helped Jude and Selah enter crafts in the fair and Selah won two 1st place ribbons and Jude won a 2nd place and a participation ribbon. On one of his crafts he was judged as an adult accidentally (the one he got 2nd place one), so had he been judged as a youth I think he would've gotten 1st. ;) And somehow I don't have a single photo of their accomplishments... maybe if their mom was a photographer...

We went to the fair two nights in a row, since family were going to be going the second night and we wanted to get to join them too. The first night Jude really wanted to play some games because the last time we were at Oaks Amusement Park we had to leave before he got to play the ones he wanted. So he was really excited to try this one. On his 2nd swing he made the bell ring and was so proud! :)

Selah was super excited to run into her girlfriends there that night! They rode the truck ride together. :) Cute girls.

Ben rode the truck too and I loved his excitement!

It was kind of chilly and windy that evening, so we didn't stay super long.
The next evening we found the grandparents, and looked at the kids craft entries, and then watched the kids ride more rides. I think this was the funnest part, cheering for the kids as they went by and then repeatedly laughing at ourselves because we sounded like a full cheering section. :)

Selah was a little nervous at first on this little roller coaster and then realized it wasn't scary after all.

Ben cracked me up when riding this... he was having so much fun!

More trucks...

This one was the funniest with all of us family cheering Selah on. My cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing so much.

And we sat and watched the cowboys rope calves and a couple of bull riders too. Fun memories made.
