Ben's 8th Birthday

This handsome boy turned 8 in December and he was hoping for snow, which we didn't get, so I photoshopped some into his photos for him. ;)
I'm so grateful for the joy and positive attitude that Ben has. He reminds me so much of Josh, and I love that. He's a ray of sunshine, and an encourager. He cares about people who are hurting, and I love that about him too. He's a quick learner and knows what he likes and wants to accomplish.
And he's a big goofball 59% of the time. :)
It's still hard to believe that our youngest is eight!
As tradition, the kids get to plan out their birthdays and Josh takes the day off from work, so we can celebrate all day as a family. Ben requested to start the day with pancakes.
Granddad Kevin, Grandma Janet, and Grandma Chris came by, which was so much fun! We loved having them here that morning. Ben wanted to open all of his gifts then, too. (If you're wondering what was inside that huge gift, it was a swivel scooter, like Jude and Selah got for their birthdays earlier in the year.)
Then we were off to Chuck E Cheese for a couple hours. Ben said that he wanted to go since Jude use to always go, and "because he might be too old for it next year." :)
Ben got to do the ticket blaster and he managed to grab the "golden ticket".
Then we came back home and Ben's two best buddies came over for a Minecraft play date and cupcakes.
We forgot to buy a #8 candle in all the hub-bub of birthday and Christmas prep, but Ben didn't mind. :)
That night we watched Home Alone and had ice cream after dinner.
The next day my mom took Ben on a his birthday shopping trip, and he got a roller coaster set that he was super excited about.
She was going to take us out for desserts, but Ben was too excited to get home and start building. So Mom came here for tea and cookies.
It was a great day and full of fun, just like our Benjamin
Happy birthday buddy, we sure love and adore you, and are so thankful for the gift you are to our family! xo

You're such a treasure Ben! I love your spunk! Nora definitely has the expressions in photos just like her Benny Boo. :D
